Migraine Relief Treatment Garland

Migraine Relief Treatment

The cause of migraines can often be difficult to determine on your own. You may or may not be aware of what is causing your migraines. During your examination, we will ask to review your medical history and look for things such as a past illness, surgery, or car accident that could be related.

After a thorough evaluation, our doctors will recommend a treatment plan tailored to your case. Typically, treatment for migraines includes chiropractic care and physical therapy.

Chiropractic care restores alignment to the spine, which can have far-reaching effects throughout the body. Treatment is gentle, safe, and completely non-invasive. The doctor will perform a simple adjustment to the area of the spine that is misaligned, and this is often all it takes to restore balance and provide headache relief.

Like chiropractic care, therapeutic massage and physical therapy promote improvement to the musculoskeletal system. This form of treatment is highly compatible with chiropractic care, and they are frequently provided alongside one another to treat migraines.

Migraine Symptoms Mesquite

Symptoms of Migraine Headaches

Typically, the symptoms of migraines are categorized into four stages:

  • Prodrome
  • Aura
  • Headache
  • Post-drome

Symptoms in the first two categories, prodrome and aura, usually serve as warnings, alerting you that a headache could be imminent. These warning symptoms may include stiffness in the neck, mood swings ranging from depression to euphoria, food cravings and thirst, increased yawning, and unusual visual phenomena, such as geometric patterns and bright flashes, numbness in the arms, legs, or face, or problems speaking.

The headache and its aftermath (the post-drome stage) are often when the most severe symptoms occur: throbbing or pulsing head pain, light and sound sensitivity, blurred or impaired vision, dizziness, confusion, nausea, or vomiting.

Not everyone experiences symptoms from all four of the categories.

What Causes Migraine Headaches?

Although it can be a challenge to identify the root cause of migraine headaches clearly, some people have been able to identify things that “trigger” their migraines (certain activities or foods) and try to avoid them. Triggers and symptoms can differ significantly between patients, each case with its own characteristics.
